Mr. Benjamin Wignarajah,
The late Benjamin Wignarajah, was known as Wignarajah in Passaiyoor, he was the son of the late Ponrajah Benjamin and the late Ponmani Matilda Benjamin of Mirusuvil. Born on 24th September 1939, Benjamin was the second among 7 siblings. A past student of St.Patricks College Jaffna, Ben was blessed with an older sister the late Imelda Bobby Samuel, younger brothers, the late Anton Nicholas Benjamin, Bernard Alfston Benjamin, Mary Buwana Mather, Anjela Raji Saverimuththu, and Celine Pamela Benjamin as siblings.
After completing his sudies, he joined the Ceylon Posts and Telecommunications department as a Postmaster where he met his wife Pushpam of Passaiyoor and got married. Benjamin moved to the Colombo head office with his wife in 1959. He had three children Roy,Roshnie and Roshan, the family moved to Canada in 1990. Benjamin was called to rest in the lords house, six years after his wife Pushpam's demise on July 10, 2006
